Sherri Shepherd
Sherri Shepherd, an American actor, comedian, television personality, and writer, is most well-known for hosting the daytime talkshow "The View" and for her many roles in popular comedy shows. Her birthplace was in Chicago, Illinois, on the 22nd of April in 1967. She is the daughter of LaVerne and Lawrence Shepherd. She was raised by her parents LaVerne and Lawrence Shepherd. Her father also worked as a manager for a restaurant in the church they attended as well as housekeeping for her mother. Shepherd is the oldest of the three daughters that they have. While working as a secretary in Beverly Hills as a legal secretary, Shepherd started performing stand-up. After being cast in "Cleghorne!", she took the plunge to quit her job to pursue an entertainment career. The show aired for one season on The WB network in 1995. Shepherd was met with financial trouble due to the show's demise and was forced to live in friends' houses for the duration of a year as she searched for new work.In 1996, she got selected to be a part of Jaime Foxx's sitcom "The Jaime Foxx Show," which she remained as a member of the cast up to 2001.
